Add 1 teaspoon of baby shampoo into the cup and still gently to combine. If you do not have baby shampoo, use liquid Castile soap instead. 3.Dip the brush into the mixture and swirl. I think part of the problem when looking at low-cost cosmetic brushes we all worry they'll be scratchy and hard, or they'll shed terribly...or just be really, really poor applicators of makeup. This is certainly not the case with these brushes. I know. I looked at the price of this set and thought to myself how on Earth could they possibly be good if they are *so* inexpensive? I was half expecting those terrible, cheap brushes that come around during the holiday season, or worse, that come free with a product you buy. Not the case at all. It's rather a feat to produce brushes like this so inexpensively. These are dense yet beyond soft. I have waited over a year to do a review of these. I HATE when I read reviews when someone has the product for like a day. Sure, they'll probably be amazing right after you get them. But how do they hold up? I'm not expecting too much for the low price, but I don't want to waste my money, either. So. They do not shed (I've washed them about 10 times now with baby shampoo). They remain as soft as the day they arrive. No discoloring, no scents, etc. They've remained just as nice as the day they arrived. The application with these brushes is amazing. I like a full coverage look from my foundation. The best way I have found do to that is with a dense, kabuki- like brush. Yay! These fit the bill. I love applying foundation with these. I only use these for foundations. I tend to use the flat top and the rounded top most. The result is an airbrushed look. It's nice to have a set of four because if you have slacked on cleaning, you'll always have one you could use. The handles are solid and hefty, without being too heavy or awkward.I am a fan of high end cosmetics (and brushes). I use a lot of Bobbi Brown brushes and my absolute FAVORITE foundation brush is from Kevyn Aucoin (read: not cheap). This brush set is an amazing option for someone just starting out withe cosmetics, someone who doesn't want to invest a lot of money in tools, etc. They're just...great. Cheaper than even Real Techniques (and similar to the Expert Face Brush, imo)!
